Tom Brady, former New England Patriots star, took a swipe at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL during his Netflix roast special. Brady revisited the infamous Deflategate scandal of 2015 in which he was accused of intentionally deflating footballs during a game. He ridiculed the fact that the NFL spent $20 million on the investigation when, Brady joked, they could have simply given him the money and he would have admitted guilt. His joke received a tumultuous applause. The Deflategate scandal resulted in a four-game suspension for Brady the following season. Following his suspension, Brady went on to win three more Super Bowls and retired as the NFL’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns and passing yards.
