Next season, Monte Harrison, former Major League Baseball player, will show a different side of his athletic prowess when he joins the Arkansas football team. After making his last appearance in the majors with the Los Angeles Angels in 2022, Harrison plans to go back to the NCAA. He will walk on the Arkansas football team, taking up the role of a wide receiver.

In 2022, Harrison had his last MLB performance with the Los Angeles Angels before deciding to join the NCAA once again. The Associated Press received confirmation from a representative for the Razorbacks.

Harrison, a 28-year-old ex-MLB player, was recognised as a four-star football recruit more than a decade ago during his time at Lee’s Summit West High School in Missouri. He had decided to play football and baseball for Nebraska. However, the Milwaukee Brewers drafted him in 2014.

Harrison spent several years in the minors before making his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins in 2020. He played for the Marlins for two seasons before signing a contract with the Angels in 2022. In 2018, the Brewers included Harrison in a trade deal as one of the top prospects, which sent outfielder Christian Yelich to Milwaukee.

During his time in the minors, Harrison had a .240 average and posted 90 home runs, 336 RBI, and 210 stolen bases. In the majors, he had a lower batting average of .177, with two home runs and six RBI.
