Aaron Rodgers Sticks With Football Amid Politics Speculation
The pressing quarterback problem is off the table for the New York Jets.
Award-winning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has settled rumors regarding his potential political ambitions with an assertive commitment to his football career. Rodgers previously received attention for his association with political figure Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate.
Rodgers Debunks the Rumour
The 40-year-old prominent sportsman finally resolved the buzz suggesting that he might switch from NFL to politics and join Kennedy’s electoral campaign as Vice President.

“Retire and Be VP or Keep Playing”
Rodgers clarified the speculative reports while conversing with journalists after the Jets’ planned team activities. He expressed, “I admire Bobby (Kennedy), we had a few thoughtful dialogues, and I had a choice to retire and serve as his Vice President or to keep playing football. But ultimately, I decided to continue playing.”
Earlier in the year, the Kennedy campaign had verified that Rodgers was among the leading candidates being evaluated for the Vice Presidential role on Kennedy’s independent ticket.
Rodgers off the Political Runway
The political rumors were dispelled when Kennedy selected Nicole Shanahan, a lawyer from California, as his Vice Presidential nominee soon after Rodgers’ name was made public.
While Rodgers has pondered retirement during previous off-seasons, the latest gossips signified a departure from the NFL for an entirely different reason.

Looking forward to 2024
Rodgers looks forward to regaining his momentum in 2024 following his Achilles injury in the Jets’ inaugural game of the 2023 season. The Jets secured the renowned quarterback in an unequaled trade deal in April 2023.
The Jets and Rodgers are all geared up to initiate the 2024 season on Monday Night Football in September. Contrastingly, compared to the previous year, Gang Green will kick off the new season on an away match.
