A driver tragically passed away after crashing into a security barrier near the White House on Saturday night around 10:30, as confirmed by the Secret Service. The Washington police department is currently investigating the incident, which was deemed as a traffic crash with no threat or public safety concerns. President Biden was not present at the White House during the crash, as he was in his home in Wilmington, Del. The crash took place on the eastern perimeters of the White House, near the intersection of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, and the driver, identified as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Images from the incident showed a heavily damaged silver sedan crashed into the outermost White House barricade. This is not the first time a security incident has occurred at this location, as similar incidents have taken place in the past, including an individual crashing a U-Haul truck into White House security barriers last May.
