Evergreen Collaborative Highlights President Biden’s Renewable Energy Record in Michigan and Wisconsin
A climate group with ties to Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington State is running $1 million of television advertising in Michigan and Wisconsin to showcase President Biden’s commitment to renewable energy.
The ads feature Democratic governors Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan and Tony Evers of Wisconsin and are among the most significant third-party ads in presidential battleground states this election cycle.
Evergreen Collaborative, founded by staff members of Gov. Inslee’s 2020 presidential campaign, has spent about $2.5 million on issue advocacy ads in Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin over the past three years.
The new ads will air for three weeks in Milwaukee and the Flint and Grand Rapids television markets in Michigan starting next Tuesday.
Highlighting President Biden’s Renewable Energy Investments
The Michigan ad features Governor Whitmer emphasizing President Biden’s investments in renewable energy in the state.
Governor Evers appears at the end of the Wisconsin ad, which focuses on solar projects powering homes in the state.
The ads aim to leverage the popularity of Governors Whitmer and Evers in their respective states to support President Biden without explicitly endorsing him.
While the ads do not mention the Inflation Reduction Act signed by President Biden, they highlight the positive impact of his administration’s initiatives in Michigan and Wisconsin.
With less than six months until the presidential election, these ads serve as a reminder to voters of the benefits brought by the Biden administration, as communicated through supportive outside groups and Democratic governors.
