Forgotten Plot Against Justice Kavanaugh Overshadowed by Flag Incident at Justice Alito’s Residence
Ignoring Kavanaugh’s Attempted Assassination
It seems incredible, yet the mainstream media appears to be more scandalized by the fact that Justice Samuel Alito’s wife flew a flag upside-down outside their home for a few days than by the 2022 foiled assassination plot of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The latter hardly made a ripple in the news cycles.
Covering the Alito Flag Incident Over Kavanaugh’s Attempted Assassination
Take for example National Public Radio, funded by the taxpayers, which failed to produce even a single feature story on the averted assassination attempt on Kavanaugh, but has dedicated ample coverage to the controversy stirred by Alito’s flag. Their seemingly neutral headlines such as “Flag displays at Justice Alito’s homes concern judicial watchdogs” betray a partisan slant, it would be more accurate to replace “judicial watchdogs” with “Democratic law professors.”
Media Slant and Selective Coverage
Even NPR’s Supreme Court reporter, Nina Totenberg, notorious for her attempt to derail the Clarence Thomas nomination, showed indifference for Kavanaugh’s safety, yet found ample time to report on the Alito flag incident. The reality that she, an admirer of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, would criticize judicial bias is ironic.
Media Aiming to Discredit Conservatively Inclined Supreme Court
It seems clear to those focused on politics that the media is echoing the Democratic narrative that seeks to discredit a Supreme Court with a conservative majority. They remain silent on how this action undermines confidence in government. Conservative gains in government are perennially viewed with skepticism by supposedly “objective” reporters.

Controversial Ruling and Accusations of Racism
Another spark for controversy was Alito’s decision in a 6-3 ruling allowing the South Carolina legislature to shift a significant number of Black voters from the competitive 1st Congressional District into the Black-majority 6th District. The majority ruled that this was a political gerrymander, which is legal, as opposed to a racial gerrymander, which is not.
Supreme Court Accused of Undermining African American Voting Rights
This ruling against the NAACP led to furious backlash. On “All In with Chris Hayes,” the host rued the decision and invited MSNBC’s regular analyst Elie Mystal. Their discussion covered multiple topics, including the flag incident at Alito’s home, the supposed coup plotted by Justice Clarence Thomas, and the recent Supreme Court decision on gerrymandering. The trio of topics led to Hayes postulating that these actions are driven by an underlying belief that Black people’s votes should not count equally.
Allegations Aimed at Justice Clarence Thomas
Regarding Thomas, they curiously neglected the fact that Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson also has a White spouse. Mystal suggested that Thomas thinks the 14th Amendment does not protect the voting rights of Black people. Their logic suggests that Black voting rights solely refer to electing Democrats. This belief not only dilutes the actual right to vote but furthers a pervading conspiracy theory that selections like Alito and Thomas support racial dominance in votes.
Smearing Alito and Thomas as Racist Revolutionaries
MSNBC thrust baseless accusations that Alito and Thomas support insurrectionist attitudes, offering weight to fringe legal commentary. However, it only served to underscore an ingrained Democratic narrative that any conservative action is part of an “insurrectionist” push. By unjustly tying conservatives with the January 6th politically-motivated riots, left-leaning media outlets unashamedly disregard political dissent and the democratic process that necessitates balance and diversity.
