Relatedly, Vincent advises against constant barefoot existence as it can lead to calluses or fat pad atrophy which could limit your footwear options in the future.

People with diabetes are specially advised to never go barefoot due to the risk of injuries not felt due to nerve damage from the disease. Regular professional foot exams and proper fitting shoes are recommended in such cases.
