No trial date has been set for the Trump case, and it’s not clear whether Trump would participate if he wins the election. If a sitting president could be tried in state court is a question that might have to be settled by the Supreme Court.

In terms of campaign funding, Judge McAfee has raised over $327,000, including $100,000 of his own money as of May 2nd. Another candidate, Mr. Patillo has raised approximately $11,800. Tiffani Johnson, a Democrat like Patillo, has managed to raise more than $17,000, however, she has been disqualified due to not meeting residency requirements, a decision she is contesting.

Attendees of the Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta’s Bankhead neighborhood, welcomed Judge McAfee, his wife and one of his kids with open arms on the first Sunday of May. Reverend Kenneth Lamont Alexander commended the judge, acknowledging that McAfee was performing a role many wouldn’t want. But McAfee, an accomplished cellist, expressed eagerness to return to his duties and even wished to strive for a win that would let him officiate and play at a wedding. For now, his cello is what’s keeping him busy.
