Newlywed Katherine Asplundh, an Instagram influencer, faced harsh criticism and deleted her account after allegedly attempting to bully another user of the same name into selling her the Instagram handle she desired. Asplundh, who recently married into a billionaire tree service family, encountered backlash when messages she sent to the other user were shared publicly. Asplundh’s messages claimed buying Instagram accounts was common practice among celebrities. However, when the other user, who is not based in the US, declined the offer for fear of being banned, Asplundh insisted she was impersonating someone and threatened to report her account. In response, multiple Instagram accounts were created under similar names, preventing the influencer from obtaining her desired username. Prior to its deletion, Asplundh’s account had 14,600 followers.
