Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart has critiqued President Biden, stating that he is too old to be President. In a comedy performance that aired on Netflix, Stewart expressed his belief that it should be acceptable to discuss Biden’s age as a factor in his presidency.
Stewart argued that spectators feel nervous watching Biden due to his age, during his gig at the Netflix Is a Joke Fest. The host continued to state that while Biden can be a beneficial addition to society, he should not maintain his role as president.
Viewers will have to decide between Biden and Trump in the upcoming November elections, a situation Stewart questioned. Both Trump and Biden are the oldest individuals that have run for presidency, he noted.
Stewart, who has previously criticized Trump and Republicans, has recently faced backlash from Democrat supporters over his comments on Biden’s fitness for office. He reiterated his stance, explaining that both Biden and Trump share similar fitness challenges.
He also argued that Biden should face the same level of scrutiny as Trump, if not more. Despite criticizing Trump’s legal issues, Stewart believes Biden’s position makes him equally prone to examination.
These remarks were not well received by all, leading to a significant backlash. Among those displeased was Mary Trump, niece of former President Trump, who accused Stewart of contributing to “a potential disaster for democracy.”
If Biden secures re-election, he will be 82 at inauguration and 86 at the end of his term. Trump is currently 77.
The question of age has been raised in relation to both candidates, as Biden has made numerous oral mistakes and displayed apparent memory lapses recently. Trump has also made significant errors, such as confusing political rival Nikki Haley with Representative Nancy Pelosi.
