Blackstone CEO Backs Trump in Presidential Run
Blackstone’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Schwarzman, announced last Friday that he has decided to lend his support to Donald Trump in his potential rematch with President Biden.
Initially reported by The Post, Schwarzman, known as one of the Wall Street’s most prominent political donors, was reportedly deliberating on supporting Trump amidst rising antisemitism nationwide, particularly in universities.
Schwarzman’s Decision for Trump Endorsement
In a statement to Axios, the CEO of Blackstone expressed his reasons behind endorsing Trump, highlighting his concerns about the economic, immigration, and foreign policies under the Biden administration, combined with the surge of antisemitism across the country.
Schwarzman, who has long been perceived as an ally to Trump, stated back in 2022 that he did not plan to support the ex-president, suggesting that the Republican Party should shift its attention to new leadership.
Schwarzman Remains Undecided in Primary Elections
Despite his recent endorsement, Schwarzman did not back any contestant during the primaries.
Blackstone, till now, hasn’t shared any comment on this matter.
