Independent Jenna Cshell: Dubious Fundraiser or Duped Mom?

Adrielle Sigler, a single mother of three and popular New York social media personality, has courted controversy for seeking financial assistance online, following her reported splurge of $17,000 in just a month.

Urgent Appeal for Help on GoFundMe

Sigler, whose lifestyle videos on TikTok have gained millions of views, has repeatedly solicited donations from strangers to offset her purported high living and childcare expenses. In a recent video post, she launched a campaign on GoFundMe to raise $30,000 to relocate her family due to safety concerns. This came after her son supposedly suffered a severe assault earlier in the month. She agitated the urgency of their need to move, on the grounds their current residence in Jamestown put their lives in peril.

Doubts Raised Over Sigler’s High-Monthly Expenditure

What might initially have come off as a cry for help was soon cast in doubt as online investigators felt something didn’t add up. The suspicion stemmed from a video Sigler had posted a month prior, claiming to have spent $17,000 in that month. @ConspiraTea, a drama influencer, highlighted this inconsistency in a video calling into question Sigler’s extravagant spending habits.

Breakdown of Sigler’s Alleged Expenditure

In an April video, Sigler mapped her lavish monthly spending where she claimed, “This month I spent over $17,000,” while maintaining it’s rather commonplace for a single parent with three children. According to the video, the $17,000 was spent on elements like $5,000 for car repairs, $1,000 for a rental, $1,600 for her kids’ summer outfits, $800 on food delivery service Doordash, and another $800 on utilities.

Besides these expenditures, Sigler’s shopping list included items such as rent, Amazon purchases, beauty products, allowance for her kids, hair products, and five mobile phones – two for her, and one for each child. Nevertheless, she didn’t disclose specific prices for these. In her defense, Sigler argued, “If you’re a single mom and you’re supporting three kids, then some months you can easily spend $15,000 to $20,000 – rent needs to be paid, your car needs fixing. And let’s not leave out birthdays, and hair salon expenses.”

Sigler stated she required $30,000 to relocate due to her son suffering a “brutal assault”. Adrielle Sigler/TikTok

The Reactions to Sigler’s Lavish Claims

Criticism of Sigler’s high expenditure mounted as many TikTok viewers openly expressed their disbelief. Comments ranged from accusing her of exploiting the struggles of single parenthood for personal gain to outright calling her a “beggar and scammer”.

Questions also arose regarding the legitimacy of her claim that her son was attacked – the basis of her $30,000 GoFundMe drive. A number of comments under a WNY News report – which mentioned that seven persons had been charged with assault on the same date Sigler claimed her son was assaulted – suggested that Sigler’s son willingly participated in the fight.

Other critics went as far as setting up a Reddit thread to highlight more questionable acts by Sigler, including allegations of “doxxing a minor” for information and a lawsuit against a cafe for forbidding her to film in their business.

Furthermore, a petition on Change.org was initiated to ban Sigler from TikTok. The Post has reached out to Sigler for her remarks regarding the controversy through phone and TikTok.
