Hottest Picks for NYC Week: The Latest in Fashion, Cuisine, and Cultural Highlights

Here’s a look at the top-picks in NYC this week with a concoction of designer runway releases, opulent hotel services reaching your homes, fresh dining places setting up shop, and celebrity-ridden cultural events hitting the city. Consider this your personalized guide, guiding you to the crème de la crème in savoring, shopping, and exploring the best of what the city has to offer.

Let’s delve into what’s making heads turn from the luxury segment of this week.

Imagine having an iconic Champagne sabering service from the revered St. Regis at your doorstep, or hitting the local Gap stores flooded with a cool collaboration emanating California vibes, or witnessing design stalwarts making their entry into New York City.

Art Lighting up NYC: Alma Allen’s Stunning Sculptures

Despite not being a household name, self-taught sculptor Alma Allen has managed to garner attention from a niche crowd. With numerous A-list fans like Beyoncé and Katy Perry, Allen’s journey is quite compelling, transitioning from street-side art vending to getting featured at prestigious galleries.

His recent solo opening at the Kasmin Gallery unveiled around twelve unique pieces of bronze and stone sculptures. These captivating work of art came to life in Mexico City, where Allen has lived since 2017.

Coincidently, Allen’s pieces had adorned the central plaza at the Rockefeller Center just two years ago.

Champagne Sabering by St. Regis, Now Delivered Right at Your Doorstep

Witnessed any dusk at any St. Regis property? If yes, then you’re already familiar with their glamorous and dramatic nocturnal champagne sabering ceremony. This concept involves a lavish display of opening a champagne bottle using a blade.

In an exciting turn of events, now you can avail this experience off-property. A St. Regis butler will reach you via Vespa, equipped with an exquisitely styled basket containing everything you need for on-site sabering in New York City or the Hamptons. Additional sabering lessons are also on offer.

For Hamptons residents, a variety of food pairings is also available to accompany the Champagne, prepared by Yann Nury NYC.

Gap and Dôen Roll Out a Mega Summer Collection

Ahead of summer, trend-setting California brands – Gap and Dôen, combine forces to unveil a massive 51-piece capsule collection. This range glorifies timeless femininity and individual style, offering a diverse lineup of tops, skirts, dresses, denim, loungewear, and accessories catering to all age groups, from newborns to adults.

The advertisement campaign focused on sisterhood, highlighted by founders of Dôen – siblings Katherine and Margaret Kleveland, and featuring model sisters, Lily Aldridge and her sister Ruby. Even 11-year-old twin sisters, Levi and Zahar, were seen endorsing similar kid’s collection.

Design Galore at NYC x Design

NYC serves as the world’s prime hotspots for all things design. The action levels up during NYC x Design, when an array of design exhibits, lectures, tours, and events are scattered throughout the boroughs, with many accessible to the public.

The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) is the biggest event to look forward to, scheduled at the Javits Center. Though it’s a trade show primarily, the general public can still attend on the final day, though it’s advisable to register ahead of time.

Quarters – The New Home Furnishing Destination

The historic Tribeca building now houses Quarters – an elegant home furnishing store, a venture from the creators of design studio and lighting brand, In Common With. The two-story loft wears a chic look, spread over 8,000 square feet, styled like a private residence exuding opulence and refined taste.

What’s exciting is that every item inside the store, ranging from furniture, artwork, to pantry items, can be purchased. The best part? You can walk in without an appointment and browse to your heart’s content.
