Caitlin Clark, who recently became NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, blocked Antonio Brown on social media following a series of strange interactions. Brown congratulated Clark on her achievement with an odd message containing a GIF of actor Mel Gibson with long hair. Afterward, Brown called Clark the “Cracker of the Day” when he discovered she had blocked him, which appeared to be the last straw for her.
Brown later appeared on Jason Whitlock’s podcast to discuss the social media tension, where he praised Clark for her talent and contribution to women’s basketball. He invited Clark to share her story on his fictitious network, CTESPN, stating it was only meant as a joke. However, he ended with a crude comment, making it unlikely Clark will unblock him soon.
Meanwhile, Clark continues to excel in the WNBA, making her official debut next Tuesday with the Indiana Fever. She was selected as the first overall pick in April, following a successful preseason game where she scored 21 points. The incident with Brown follows a series of unwelcome interactions with IndyStar columnist Gregg Doyel, who has since stopped covering the WNBA.
