The English Premier League club, Chelsea, has announced that they have secured Atlético Madrid and Portugal forward João Félix on a loan deal until the end of the 2022/23 season. Félix expressed his excitement to play at Stamford Bridge and contribute to Chelsea’s success.
During his tenure with Atlético, Félix made 131 appearances and scored 34 goals. The La Liga club signed him in 2019 for a remarkable $142 million (126 million euros), marking the fifth richest transfer in soccer history at that time.
Félix, who has also scored a goal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, represented Portugal in 28 matches. As he joins Chelsea, the club is struggling with form under coach Graham Potter and currently holds the 10th spot in the Premier League.
